License terms

Plain language first, because you should understand what you're agreeing to without a lawyer — then the full text a lawyer will want anyway.

Regular

  • ✅ Run ONE production deployment of the platform, under one brand, for your own ride-hailing/delivery business
  • ✅ Modify anything, white-label everything
  • ✅ Unlimited dev/staging copies
  • 🚫 No SaaS: don't host it as a product for other businesses
  • 🚫 No reselling, sublicensing or redistributing the source

Extended

  • ✅ Everything in Regular
  • ✅ SaaS / multi-tenant: host the platform for paying client businesses, unlimited tenant brands, on infrastructure you control
  • 🚫 Still no reselling or redistributing the source itself (your clients get a service, not the code)
DRAFT — TODO(owner): have this reviewed by a lawyer in your jurisdiction and fill in the governing law + legal entity before launch. The structure and intent below are settled; the legal wording is not final.

Source License Agreement (draft)

This agreement is between the purchaser named in the order ("you") and TODO(owner): legal entity ("we"), covering the RideKit software delivered as source code with your order ("the Software").

1. Grant

On payment we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use, modify and build upon the Software: under a Regular license, to operate one (1) production deployment for a single end business and brand; under an Extended license, additionally to operate the Software as a hosted, multi-tenant service for third-party businesses. Unlimited non-production (development/staging) deployments are included in both.

2. Restrictions

You may not sell, resell, license, sublicense, publish or otherwise redistribute the Software's source code (modified or not) as source; may not use it to build a product whose purpose is to distribute the Software; and may not remove copyright notices from files that carry them. Extended licensees' clients receive access to a running service, never the source.

3. Ownership

We retain copyright in the Software. You own your modifications, your data, your brand and your deployments.

4. Updates & support

Your order includes access to updated builds via the buyer portal for six (6) months from purchase (unless your order states otherwise), and reasonable email support for setup questions. The Software keeps working after the window ends; only new builds stop.

5. The license key

Your license key is a cryptographically signed proof of purchase. It contains no personal data beyond a hash of your purchase email; the Software performs no activation, telemetry or phone-home based on it. Keep it confidential — it identifies you for support, updates and this agreement.

6. Warranty & liability

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Payment-provider integrations marked unverified-adapter are delivered explicitly as untested against live providers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid. TODO(owner): jurisdiction-specific wording.

7. Termination

The license ends automatically on material breach of §2. Sections 3, 6 and 8 survive.

8. Governing law

TODO(owner): governing law & venue.
